Quality Management with Business Central
Quality Management Extension in
Business Central helps small and medium size companies in quality checking process
for purchase item and finished product produced in production process. You can
setup quality parameters for your raw material purchase or finish goods and
utilize those parameters during your purchase process or production process to assess the quality of the item and thereby
reduce the wastage and sales return order due to bad quality.
Quality management workflows can be enabled to have more control on movement of quality failed lots. Quality Orders can be tracked with respective Lot number, can also additionally tracked with Serial number by enabling serial number tracking in Item tracking Codes.

Quality Management supports Basic and Advanced Quality Management.
Companies can have the Option to define selected Items only for Quality Check Process.
Basic Quality Management is three step process, which updates Quality Status based on user selected value. Basic Quality Management flows in three stages – Pending, In-Process and Pass or Fail.
Quality Order Workflows can be enabled in order to have control on movement of Quality Check failed Lots for Returns, Shipments or for consumption.
Advanced Quality Management allows to maintain Quality Parameters for every Item. When Purchase Receipt posted then system creates Quality Order with predefined Quality Parameters. In Advanced Quality Management Quality Order flows in three stages Pending, In-Process and finally into Pass or Fail.
Advanced Quality Management comes with different types of Parameter values, Users can define the Parameter Values in Numbers (Ex., Width, Thickness etc.), Date (Ex. Manufacture Date or can be defined as Date Formula as 1M,15D, can be used to mention Shelf-Life Period requirement), Options (Ex., Color like Red, Blue etc.,).
You can define calculation for Tolerance which can be used for defining additional condition with Maximum and Minimum values.
Parameter master supports defining Sample Quantity and Tool required for Quality check.
Quality Management supports Vendor Rating. For each Purchase Receipt and Quality Order Posting system calculates Vendor rate and inserts the Value into respective Vendor Card.
Quality Management supports Customer Shelf-Life Requirement. Customer Item Shelf Life helps in reducing the Sales returns due to limited expiry period of the Item which will finally reduce the handling costs.
